Cupboard Love

Record released on 2003-05-25 at 12:00 p.m.

Well, did you see it?? Eurovison, of course! It was hilarious - I got 15 pages of quotes this year and that's a record! Between the costumes that made the hosts look like a couple of pieces of fruit, the UK's Null Points, the lady who messed up the results from her country, Austria's blatant attempt to get the comedy vote (and it worked!) and the fact that there was only one act without either an attractive singer or backing dancer, it was the best, funniest contest there has ever been! Couple that with the fact that next year there will be two eurovisions.... well, consider me a very happy X!

Terry Wogan went completely overboard as usual, but was actually worse than ever! I was particularly amused by his threat to shoot the host. And yes, the subtitles were riddled with mistakes that had me scribbling notes at a hundred miles an hour. Y and I laughed almost continuously and I am already looking forward to next year's!

And watch this space tomorrow night for the quotes and highlights of Eurovision!

In other news, Y and I have created FURNITURE! We put together our first ever piece of flat-packed furniture without swearing, breaking anything, putting anything the wrong way round, discovering anything was missing and without the item falling to pieces when it was complete. Heh, we are so smug! Absolutely knackered me but was much more fun than I thought possible! And here is the result!

Sturdy! :)

The only downside of this was that we spent the whole time singing 'if I Had a Hammer', to which Y added the polite second line.... "I'd hit Miranda...." Charming!

Anyway, a quick word of warning to anyone considering letting the above cupboard take part in any kind of guestbook activities: There are to be NO cupboards in my guestbooks. no cupboards with binoculars, none with Salem inside, none with Boris inside, none being sold on Bargain Hunt, none making a profit and definitely NONE playing a game of tennis against Tim Henman! There are to be none with eight legs or being put together very quickly by spiders, none covered with fur, no red ones and none with shells! Is that clear?? :)

*Expects the worst!*

Anyway, I'm having a lovely weekend and I hope everyone else is, too. i'll be back tomorrow! xx
