Argh, God, I wish this pain would leave me alone just for a little while. I'm fast reaching the point where I'm being driven completely round the bend. The blood shows no sign of stopping at the moment so I'm leaving my doctor's appointment until Monday. I don't feel up to the trek all the way to the surgery. It's been a chain reaction with everything else as well and my glands are up so far I look like I have a treetrunk for a neck! I'm floppy and tired so I shall spend the day resting and doing the same thing I did last night: going through a batch of folders of cuttings and pictures, and goodness knows what else. I love a good clear out every now and then.
I will do a proper update later because I have a bizarre tale involving sandwiches to relay, but right now I just wanted to have a ramble about one of my current favourite famous females, namely Corinne Wicks. She plays Helen in Doctors and I have fancied her for a very long time but this week suddenly that's gone up by several degrees and I'm at the desperate-to-paint-her stage. However, the resources for pictures of her are very limited. Being a daytime drama rather than a mainstream drama or a soap (despite its baffling inclusion in the Soap Awards :/ Hmm....) there are few pictures and little information about Doctors.
I did an extensive websearch for Corinne Wicks yesterday but found nothing, except for the already established treaure-trove of picures on Y and my favourite site for girl pictures, which you can find here.... - we have visited often! However, the only pictures there are screenshots which although are nice they're not clear enough to draw. I've only ever once succesfully drawn a portrait from a screenshot, and that was one of Jaye Griffiths so it doesn't really count because I could probably draw her with my eyes closed by now!
So yesterday, after my search failed to turn up anything useful, I tried to contact the BBC to ask where I could write for publicity pictures. I went round and round the BBC website, through links to links to more links of possible ways to contact them, and after 10 minutes the links had taken me round in full circles several times and I was still no closer! In the end I filled in an enquiry form online, which basically wanted your life story before it would accept your question. I tried leaving one pf the fields blank because it had nothing to do with the question and it wouldn't allow me to hit 'send' before I'd filled it in!
Crossly, I asked for details of where to write for publicity photographs, not caring by now if I was contacting completely the wrong place, and this morning I received a drivelling email relating to how they were 'striving' to answer my query as soon as possible and how they would dedicate their resources to giving me the answer I needed.
All I wanted was one teeny, tiny picture of Corinne Wicks! Life is so cruel! :)
In case you do not know who I am talking about then cast your eyes over this beautiful woman....
