Like a Lightning Bolt

Record released on 2003-06-12 at 8:00 p.m.

So, it came. Approximately 2 hours ahead of my predicted ETA, it came. And the pain has been ripping me up ever since. It's like being punched repeatedly in the stomach from the inside. But it's had a really bad effect on me in other ways this time and I've got the shakes so badly that I'm ashamed to even look at the three pages of book I wrote this afternoon. I doubt Kass is even going to able to read her birthday card, either. Painkillers and hot water bottles have done absolutely nothing. My hands are smothered with blood, no matter how many times I wash them the stains remain, and that's all because I dared to change my underwear when it got soaked through with blood.

Why has no one yet invented sanitary protection that works for people with a higher than average blood loss?? Bastards.

And why does my buddy list keep flashing orange when no one's updated??

Still, unbelievably for a day when I've spent 90% of it with my fists scrunched into tight balls against my stomach and almost screaming with pain, I have achieved far too much. For starters I have managed to wangle a cut-price deal on an Asia Argento video. A few weeks ago I ordered two tapes which never arrived, and when I enquired I was told they were out of stock so I cancelled the order. Today I found two charges of 9.99 had been randomly added to my credit card bill by the company, even though only one of the videos was that much, and even though I'd cancelled the order!

Well, you can imagine that a wound-up Miranda is not a good Miranda to mess with when she's in pain, so I used that hated contraption - the phone - and I called their customer service number.

I gave them One Hell Of A Mouthful.

I gave them more of a mouthful than Otis sticking his snout in his mouth.

Apparently a 'computer error' has been randomly charging amounts to my credit card and I'm the 5th person to have complained about it. The woman was in such a fluster to apologise to me that she said one of the tapes was back in stock and that she could send it to me cut-price tomorrow morning if I didn't make an official complaint.

So what do you think I said?

I took the cheap tape, damnit! I need Asia Argento therapy!

This afternoon I composed two letters to famous, gorgeous girls. One was to Corinne Wicks (no heckling! I *like* her!) and the other was a top secret one that I want to keep to myself. It was a blonde, that's the only hint you're getting. Tomorrow I may write to Sarah Manners. It would be rude not to since she's kept me smiling from my layout for weeks.

Composing the letters was not exactly easy since every few minutes I had to duck down on the floor when another wave of pain hit, but it helped me keep my mind on something and certainly helped to soothe me in other ways. However, now I've reached the stage where I'm fast losing a grip on what I'm doing so I may not be back for a couple of days. I don't want to spend the whole weekend moaning at you all.

The brainkillers are sending me loopy already though. This morning I sent Y a mean batch of links to do with scary aspects of Kevin Smith's films and it seemed Izzles had been looking at the links over my shoulder and decided that she has become a Kevin Smith fan. She has decided to grow a beard and has renamed herself Silent Izzles. After some of the earbashings she's given me in the past, I think I quite like the idea of her not speaking. However, I have been disturbed to hear her mumbling a chorus or two of Berzerker under her breath. I am sure toilet rolls were mentioned somewhere.

We shall have to hope that I do not end up warped enough to actually *make* her a beard and post pictures....

What's On: Whispering Your Name by Alison Moyet. I adore this song.
